LuisMP29
Hello everyone, I am writing to see if you can help me. As I mentioned in the presentation, we are new to the world of trials and for Adrian I got him an Oset 20 lite, which runs at 36v, the bike came with lead batteries, which barely lasted at all and even less. I have bought a lithium battery for her of 36-42v and 21aH, with a continuous discharge of 160A (according to the manufacturer). The motorcycle now has a spectacular duration, but the problem comes when on some occasion, perhaps when accelerating very suddenly, the motorcycle stops, with the ignition button on, the accelerator lights disappear and the motorcycle stops. To start it again you just need to turn OFF/ON in one second and it works again. My thought is that the oset switchboard cuts off power for some reason. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone and how they solved it. I have read the photo and I have seen that there are Kelly brand switchboards, which could solve my problem. P.S. I attach an image with the characteristics of the battery greetings
konrad
I don't know anything about the Oset 20 Lite, but this source https://www.ultimatespecs.com/motorcycles-specs/oset/oset-200-lite-2017 says it has a maximum power output of 0.9 kW. Your lithium-ion battery is rated 42V and 160A, which would permit a maximum power output of 6.7kW! Even when the battery is depleted to 36V, it's capable of providing 5.7 kW. Electric vehicles are a system comprising motor, battery, and controller all designed to work together. Your controller is protecting the system from that very powerful battery by temporarily shutting off. Basically, your Li-Ion battery has "upset the balance of power." LuisMP29
First of all, thank you for your reply. According to the manufacturer, this should not be the problem. This is the first time that this problem has been reported to him. He has made several for this bike and it has never happened. Now my question is how to fit a Kelly controller and how much it can cost.
LuisMP29
After much discussion I have managed to get the manufacturer of my battery to make me a new battery since they sent me the one that did not correspond to me, they sent me one that was inferior to the one I had paid for. After speaking with electrical engineers they tell me that the BMS may be in poor condition or incorrectly configured. I hope the new battery will put an end to my problems.
