KRJ
Hi all. Back on a Beta after a couple years on a TRS. Lots of things that I loved haven't changed, but things i didn't like also haven't changed - plastics. They still seem very rigid & brittle. Is anyone making aftermarket fenders that are more pliable yet? A number of searches have come up empty, just hoping I'm missing something. lemur
For the front fender you are not limited to buying Beta, other brand front fenders will fit and a Montesa front fender bracket is a good start point. Beta rear fender there is a way to change the air box cover bolt and reduce breakage of the stock rear fender plastics, you make the airbox cover attach to the plastic fender instead of bolting to the frame, that reduces breakage of the rear fender plastics. ChrisCH
BOSI do a front mudguard replacement with a brace. We had one for a year or so and it was an improvement on the OE. I think other mudguards will also fit the brace if you need to replace again. Worth a look. https://www.johnleemotorcycles.co.uk/product/bosi-front-fender-kit/
totty79
BOSI do a rear as well, I've used one for years.
KRJ
Thanks for the feedback guys. The rear is what I'm interested in. That BOSI kit looks like a good solution if (when?) the rear fender is broken. Not sure about getting it here in the States though. I'd love to find something available in the States to replace the OEM fender while it's still in great shape. Re-sale value & all that. arthritic
Original fender often breaks in the wrong place to then fit the Bosi kit. At least in two cases that I've known.

If you change the way the airbox access cover bolts on, you are far less likely to snap the rear fender in the typical fashion. Secure the airbox cover to the fender even with glue works and then bolt the fender to the bike with only the front bolt and 2 small zip ties at the rear part of the frame, then when you crash the entire fender will come loose instead of breaking the fender into two. That Bosi front kit looks like a copy of the stock Montesa fender and bracket and the half length rear tail looks like a copy of a TRS 2 piece fender, seen them live and they look like the wrong fender bolted on there. stpauls
In 2013 the Beta Evo mudguards/fenders were made of glass! Really careless that Beta haven't solved this issue. They deserved to loose market share to TRS et al.
