TRS 300 RAGA clutch snatch

HI,

The clutch operation on my TRS is like an on off switch, seems to move on bite point a little as well.

I rode a trial yesterday and a rider mentioned if it has an adjustable belville clutch, I've checked it hasn't!

I've stripped  clutch out, cleaned up all fibre and steel plates etc, and re filled with Dextron 3.

Doesn't have any leaks around hydraulics etc.

Not tried bike properly yet, so unsure if any better, does anyone have anything to add or suggest?

TIA

@scorpaian The on off clutch is how modern trials bike clutches usually feel . Putting ATF in the gearbox makes it more likely to feel like that , if you want it to feel a little more progressive use gearbox oil that is suitable for use with a wet clutch although this can make it feel more draggy , 75w is what is mainly used in a trials gearbox of a modern bike . Elf HTX 740 is a popular specialists choice in a trials gearbox for a good action but ironically it says for use with dry clutches in the spec sheet but ignore that . Trials oils like Putoline , Rock oil , Sil etc all sell a light gear oil 75w that will work with similar results , you have to try them out and see which you prefer.

Shorty lever operated from near the end gives me plenty of friction zone, bite point should never change if there is no air in the system.  I run ISO46 hydraulic oil instead of ATF in the transmission because it works for me, it's inexpensive so I can change it frequently and the difference is oil has greater lubricity compared to ATF and to prove that all you need to do is rub some between your fingers.
