rev`er
I just visited the sherco pages and people say that the sherco air box is really bad, i remember this on a Montesa aswell, does water get into all montesa airboxes or is it just when riding through deep water etc.... Cheers in advance
munch
buy an airbox snorkell like on a landrover you can go into about 4 foot of water then!

stefan
My last attempt to use the Monty as a submarine ended with quite a hefty repair bill (buckled conrod). Once the water is coming up to seat height it was all over. Now I am thinking about a snorkel with a flexible hose going up my back and ending above the helmet. That would give me a wading depht of about 1.5 mtrs... more than a landy can do... Cheers
trials lad
I've been in water comeing up to the bottom of the barrel on my '99 mont. The only place I got water comeing in was in my boots. P.S from what I have seen there is not much differnce in a '99 airbox to a '01- Danny
jrsunt
the only time i get water in the monty airbox is after washing with the pressure washer. None gets in from riding through streams, just a beed of silicone between the box and rear fender does the job.
beta boy
try sealing the airbox off and then put flexy hose coming out at the handle bars so you can go in water over your back mudguard but on other thoughts i wouldn't try it on my $h!ty beta cause water always gets in Edited February 12, 2004 by beta boy
