mcman56
A new to me 2018 4rt has a plastic guard mounted between the frame and bash plate that extends back to protect the suspension link. It seems like a good idea but also limits the torque that can be applied to the rear bash plate mounting bolts. If the bash plate is considered part of the frame, this seems like a really bad idea. I don't see it on the parts list. However, in addition to the front rubber pad above the bask plate, I see a secondary "pad" that I do not have on the parts list. Could the plastic piece I have be that secondary pad? Is the piece in the picture OEM? What came from the factory? lemur
Stock original is just like the parts manual shows, every Montesa I ever bought new came with an excellent printed service manual and the bike will be just like the parts list shows. Best one I ever home built was from 1/4" Thordon elastomeric bearing plastic attached to the plate with large flat head socket cap screws. marky boy
Looking at it, I reckon that is a Jitsie bolt on Linkage protector. It should not replace the other rubber. You should have 2 x rubbers for the bashplate as the manual shows. Or better still, get the newer style bashplate rubber that is one piece from Honda Manuals - Montesa Edited Thursday at 09:27 AM by marky boy
