trapezeartist
I broke the lever lug off my front brake master cylinder at the weekend so I need a new master cylinder. Are AJP and Braktec the same thing? I thought they were different but I've seen them advertised as the same.
lineaway
Good trick question. Ajp went under. AJP made a better product. But Brakteh uses thier design in a different body. I use the old large body AJP. Mainly they are more dependable. But they use the same pistons more or less. The Braktec feels smoother when bled well. But I still get a firmer brake overall with the ajp.
lemur
Over the years there were 2 different sized banjo hose fittings and the handlebar mount went from two bolts to one bolt with a hinge. You will want to make certain your hydraulic fittings are the same or you will end up replacing the entire front brake assembly.

lemur
It is a trick question from the aspect that Brembo bought J.Juan which bought Braktek subsequent to their purchase of AJP so yes; there are a whole bunch of different model brakes all made virtually by the same company. Photos are the best way to tell them apart 😕
lineaway Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:47 PM Gas Gas announced a recall on all the newer mx bikes. The Braktek caliper has issues. Go figure.
