team andrew
Has anybody had problems with the floats in the bowl of the standard Sherco carburettors. I have a 2002 290 and have repaired unsuccessfully two no. pinholes in the float body. The result is a carburettor/engine that does not pull ihard in half to full throttle and feels as if it is overchoked!!! Can you get replacement floats and is this a design defect on behalf of the manufacturers!!!!
nigel dabster
Never had a problem at all spare parts are readily available from euro carbs.
jtt
I've actually read somewhere about "leaky floats" on DelOrtos. Think it was John Studleys tech stuff at GasGas USA. Either way, as Dabster indicated, you'll simply need to replace them. I'd think a pretty cheap part.

charliechitlins
I've probably dropped a hundred floats in a can of cleaning fluid, to see how they float. I do it every time I strip a carb. Every so often one doesn't float as high as it should. Ususlly old ones, though. It comes with the turf. Get a new one. In a pinch, you can put some epoxy or tank sealer on them, but it adds weight and can be tricky.
