sir dabs alot
Just wondering what octane gas everyone is running in their Montesa 315s. I'm considering an '04 model and wondered if 93 octane isenough or do I have to run "race gas" or ultra-high octane fuel to get good results? Your advise/opinions would be welcomed. Thanks
ssiegmund
kbell - The motor likes around 98. Around here 100 unleaded and 110 leaded are the same price ($6.75 gal) 1.5 gal of 110 with 3.5 gal of 92 produces 97.4 oct. or $4.45 a gallon. the alcoholic
Hi kbell The 315 is fairly bullet proof, although a couple of us found a persistent knocking (like running out of fuel) that would not go away regardless how much we played around with jets or airscrews. One of our riding pals discovered running his 315 on "AvGas" cured the problem. Our local airfield supplies avgas (100 octane) for
monty-python
I used shell optimax in my previous 2 ,315's with no knocking Cheaper than Avgas, if you can get it
ssiegmund
Beyond octane issue - Can anyone elaborate on using unleaded vs. leaded race gas in a two-stroke motor?
