doogle
Me and a couple of mates are riding the Gerald Simpson Trial this week. We are making the long trip from daaaarnnn saaaaartthh, we have even got a <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> booked so we can have a bit of hero talk in the pub the night before. Looking forward to a good road event. Has anyone on here ridden it recently? Whats it like? Are any of you riding this year? Hopefully see you there. I'll be the one with a Union Jack on my lid, in a heap on the floor with the bike on top of me mumbling something along the lines of "i hate ******* rocks"
cota kid
Its a great trial, which was unfortunately cancelled last year thanks to DEFRA and the SPS. Even has a pub stop half way round.
kinell
B*****ks! Is it Saturday or Sunday?
hillary
Simpson is a BRILLIANT trial, but take some cash with you for food and drinks at half way point. Sensible sections, well plotted by riders who know their business. Good ride out, one of the year's highlights.
cota kid
B*****ks! Is it Saturday or Sunday? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sunday, although I understand the entry is full.
nigel dabster
Bit like a good day from the 3 day. Expect a score (for you) in the 80's?
perce
I've heard it's one course suits all this year to........
another5
If it all one course theres either going to be very low score for the experts or very high scores for the clubmen riders? isnt it normally a mixture of sections?
doogle
Nice one sounds like a good trial. I can't wait. When I entered I was told there was 2 routes, so unless it's changed I should have an enjoyable day.

Expect a score (for you) in the 80's? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you still upset from the Hammers defeat at the weekend? I'm on my 4RT so my score could be easily double that! It was an awesome day. The Hammers fans were a credit to the club. If I drop in the 80's I will be over the moon. I will be happy just to finish. cota kid
A superb trial which even the atrocious weather and the course being cut due to Saturdays rain couldn't spoil! There was duel routes through must of the sections.
ikb
As R2 says "wrong clothes"!! I have never been so wet! ( It was sunny when we started) Many thanks to all Observers and helpers.
doogle
Yes a brilliant trial, I will definately be making the 440 mile round trip to ride it again next year. Sections were spot on. As said earlier even the crap weather couldn't spoil it.
nigel dabster
So how close to the 80 then? You could do any of the Richmond trials and enjoy them but should consider the Crackpot in the Autumn, my fav after the 3 day.
