peter_gasgas
Having a bit of agro with the kickstart on my 290. After starting, it wont go back to its original position fully and sticks on one of the bolts from the clutch cover. After putting the kickstart back one "tooth" it simply returned to the wrond position after the first kick. Anyone else had this problem? copemech
In looking at my '05 as there should be no difference. The lever should not be rotated so far forward in its nested position as to hit the bolt on the clutch cover. The lever should just clear the frame on the other side and it may touch the muffler when it stops the swing in. I have found that they normally need to "fly back" from the down position when kicking the bike so that it has enough energy to disengage the internal gear as it may be difficult to do by hand if you only partially depress the lever. So if you have it mounted too far forward it may hit that bolt and interfere. Hope that helps!
