On this model it has the header pipe that goes to an expansion chamber box and then to the muffler/spark arrestor. I found some rust holes in the expansion chamber and can see the baffles inside, which are pretty rusty. My question is if i open up the expansion chamber box and remove the baffles will this affect the performance in a good or bad way? Also i am thinking of removing the stock spark arrestor/ muffler and install a more free flowing muffler. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I see exhaust systems for sale like the wes but are expensive. Is there any reason i cant use a after market muffler for say a xr200 instead of the rectangular box types?
