the addict
Finally got the Beta to run as it should - took 3 months though! I have fitted the extra float bowl, changed the pilot to a 27.5, left the main as standard and have now set the needle to the standard position in the middle rather than dropping it one notch as I have done on all the other rev 3's I ve had. Carb is still leaking but pretty sure the fuel needle needs replacing as it isnt stopping fuel flow off. Did the carb mods, thanks to r2wtrials for the info. Never had to mess about with a bike so much before to get it running right. Fuel screw is also set at 2 and now running 70ml of fully synthetic repsol to 5 litres of AvGas. Forks now have damping after finding out the damping rod had nt been attatched to the cap and work really well. Dropped the forks through the yolks to lift the front as I have the rear shock set up quite hard, pleased with the bike now but it nearly went in the TMX last month in favour of a Gasser or Sherco Edited July 3, 2006 by Betarev3
the addict
Knew it would run ****e from new, time went on and it was nt getting better. Ride quite abit now and did nt want it gone for a week, fixed the damping rod at the quarry so no big deal there. Spoke to Lampkins and they sorted the finer tuning out. All good now though Edited July 3, 2006 by Betarev3
the addict
Yer, has to be one out of every hundred that runs like cr4p, I got number 100 I think. Had 4 rev3's now none have been like this one. The 04 was spot on out the crate, meant to also say I ve been running a 5es plug which may have improved the running better than anything else. tordijarres
I've had probs with my 06 also...where the 05 was fine- seems to (very) periodically have a misfire- I mean real chitty-bang-bang explosion type misfire, having stuttered along leading up to it. I was wondering what a "5es" plug is please?
barrybaines
Quote I was wondering what a "5es" plug is please? At a guess i`d say he means An NGK BPR5ES or BP5ES I use the first of the two with good results
the addict
Tordi - yer Barry's right BPR5es NGK, best plug to use. If yours still has the champion plug in it - chuck it over the nearest rock face and throw the NGK straight in.
