another5
I ride at clubmen level trials and wwas considering entering the scott trial but im not very sure whether isd be able to manage the sections? Ive watched the trial at places like bridge end, surrender, fremmington edge, underbanks and didnt think these sections were very diificult ( hard yes but not impossible for a clubman) are all the sections very similar or are these just the easier ones? any advice would be good. chris
Usually the sections start off easy and get harder the further you get round but you also find your legs and arms stop working about half way round which makes them even harder. I'd say go for it, if nothing else it'll give you something to talk about for the rest of your life.
another5
What level do you ride then chris? clubman aswell. I just think th sections would get to hard when really tired for the not very good riders.
boydw
The sections are easy when you are stood looking at them, but id have to say it is a different kettle of fish when youre riding them. You get a quick glance at the section, then you have to ride it. I would also mention the fact it is not uncanny to get a bit of abuse from the quicker riders, ie if youre stuck in a section and in the line, and not making much effort to get out, because you are so physically tired. Then you'd end up getting some grief. However dont let that put you off - you have 9 weeks to get fit, and have a go. As the entry form says its open to all!!! Get that entry in the post. ptc
I`m a clubman rider and, ive entered for the last 3 years. First year 28 sections before out of time, then 29 and last year 49 sections. It is very hard on the body, but great fun. Give it a go, but the entry does fill up very fast!!!

boydw
You should by rights only follow where the programme allows you to go. There are a number of sections you could watch, such as whaw bridge, walk upto richies revenge by grouse moor, also you could watch winterings and potting, which are at the back of gunnerside ghyll, but easily accessible from the road. then watch back on by roys rocks, over to goats then rotten wood and then back to the start, but you'll have to be quick, its easier to watch on a bike. But keep off the moors and the tracks - if you stick to the road, and walk to the sections you are fine!! Alot of spectators forget this and it puts a magnificent event in danger of being stopped! If you want to have a go - just get your entry in, you get to see at least 20 or 30 sections you wont have seen before!!!!
another5
Ill buy the programme and try to find some of these sections then, ive seen photos of richies revenge and that looks really hard.
perce
The best way to see the sections is to ride, you'll learn bugger all watching. There aren't any sections that I wouldn't put in on the green route at an RMC Trial. Riding's a great laugh, just keep going until you can't stand up or the organisers stop you. The more training you do in the next 9 weeks the better. Edited August 17, 2006 by PERCE
