There can be few in the world of Trials who don’t know that Montesa released their two new 2014 models at the world championship round in Italy last weekend. On Monday, following the world round, Montesa held a press day where journalists and their test riders could get a bit of hands-on experience with the new bikes. Trials Central was invited to this event and, whilst we're sure we could have found a volunteer (in fact hundreds of volunteers!) from our readership to test ride the new bikes, it was all arranged at pretty short notice so we teamed up with number one Trials publication, Trials & Motocross News to have Jitsie team member, minder to Jack Sheppard and a pretty tidy rider in his own right, James Duxbury test the bikes.
What did James think of how the bikes stacked up? Well it wouldn’t be much of a collaboration if Trials Central stole all the thunder, so for his views and full review of both models, you’ll have to keep an eye on Trials & Motocross News over the next couple of weeks. All we will say is that feedback from the test riders was very positive in terms of how the bikes handled and performed.
Our thanks go to the Montesa Team, to HM Moto for their hospitality, to John Dickinson at TMX for his help and to Tom Hobbs of Honda UK for his assistance and taxi service!
