Following his accident at the second day of competition at the world Trial in Japan, Michael is now in Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester after consulting with a specialist knee surgeon yesterday.
He is under the knife today to open and clean the wound and is now being given IV antibiotics for two days to make sure the knee is clean and free from infection before the knee cap is wired back together this Friday/Saturday by the experienced trauma team at Salford Royal. Michael has his girlfiend Sammy Joe with him and is in the best place.
To be injured on Sunday in Japan, home Monday, consultation Tuesday and operated on Wednesday is fast going which Michael is most grateful for. THANKS to ongoing help and support from the guys at www.harrisandross.co.uk
As expected, Michael is thoroughly fed up but pleased to know his injury will sorted by the weekend. The long aftercare and rehab after the op will see him out of action for a minimum of two months depending on how his body heals and reacts to surgery.
We all wish Michael all the best and 100% support from family and friends.
