Macclesfield Trials Club will once again be hosting their ever popular annual road trial on Saturday 28th September, 2013. The road trial now in its 15th year, was named after a remarkable man who gave so much to the club and the trials world in general. John MacDonald first presented the trophy back in 1999 and since his untimely death three years ago, the trial is now affectionately known with the title of 'The John MacDonald Memorial Road Trial'.
Set in the picturesque countryside surrounding Wildboarclough and Wincle, the trial will present some varied sections of rocky out-crops, gullies and streams. Also included will be a spectacular graded hill-climb which last year saw just three plucky riders clean. Thrills and spills on this particular section kept the observer and onlookers well entertained and although the majority didn't get the marks they would have liked here, it certainly was the talk of the day!
The trial sees an average of 70 riders from various parts of the country for this annual event and this year because it includes round 5 of the 2013 Cheshire and North Wales Centre Adult Championship, the club hopes to attract even more riders. As usual there will be two routes including 50/50, and classes will include twin-shock.
Camping is available nearby (obviously pre-booked) so if you fancy a couple of days in this beautiful part of the world why not book yourself a place.
