Westmorland John Wren Howie Cup Trial

westmorland motor clubPlease find the provisional results for the Howie up Trial, hope you all enjoyed yourself.... The trial was tougher than anticipated, but well done to those that dug in and finished. Some good rides out there, the stand out ones to me are Tom Aldy on the green and Sam Metcalfe on the easy.

Big apollogies to those that the trial overfaced, be easy to ignore but i wont.. when i put the info on trials central i have a file with previous years info and i copy and paste it in! I honestly didn check it work for word and the words regarding the trial being suitable for new starters slipped in... I really do apollogise for that, as we try to be very accurate with how our trials will be, for those who were new starters, please do contact me and i will credit you another entry for another event of ours. We will endeavor to try and not let it happen again.

On a brighter note, whilst a challenge to many, i think many dug in and ended up with good results, many riders said it was a brilliant trial and i think to those more experienced riders it was....

Unfortunately we had an accident today which has hospitalised a rider with a foot injury and several knocks to the body, wont name the rider but if he is reading this then im sure you will all join us in wishing him a speedy recovery. We will speak to him again tomorrow and if he wishes, we will release more details so people can visit him in hospital if he wishes that....

Many thanks to Ursula who put all the trials stuff together during the week and did all the observers bags as well as signing you on and observing section 6, top draw performance... thanks also to Margaret, Kim and Claire for helping get observers, sign people on and also observe, many thanks to all other observers, it really was appreciated. Thanks go to Ian Oldcorn who also had a great ride and Rob Shuttleworth for whipping in..... well done for winning too shutts.... he even had an out of control moment in section 13 resulting in a 5, also doing this was James Postlethwaite... both had an almost identical accident by hitting different things in the same place in the section, one into a rock end, one into a root end... both looked like they were going to hurt! but both remained on their machines albeit not where they wanted to be... and yes you guessed it, i missed it on the camera! My final thanks go to Mr & Mrs Bennett for welcoming us to their land and letting us have use of this challenging land, Mr Bennett enjoyed watching you all riding, also i was told the late great A A Todd relatives from just up the valley came down for a watch, hope they enjoyed!

Our next trial is the Sporty Boys which is on the 22nd September starting at the usual place at the bottom of Borrowdale (Tebay end) This will be a 3 lap trial probably with Hard, Green and Easy routes, its our last trial of the year and will be ENTER ON THE DAY... starts at 10am. Details on Trials Central soon and i will put an entry form up there for you so you can fill in at home prior to the trial. This is always a brilliant trial, dont miss out......

Thanks again for supporting us today and hope you have a good week, Browny :-)
