As you may have seen earlier on Scarborough & Guisborough motor club websites and Trials Central Calendar under Hull Auto OPEN Trial 15th September, I informed you that both Pickering and Hull Auto Clubs have trials taking place, past the village of Carlton on the outskirts of Helmsley.
Both events will be flagged from the junction opposite the BATA filling station on the A170 Helmsley to Kirkbymoorside Road, then a few miles through Carlton. The Pickering event entrance is about 2 miles before the Hull Auto Event, which is further up the road at Piethorn Farm.
We have just read that there is a tractor rally, which is also going to use that road out of Helmsley and the first tractor is expected at Carlton around 1050.
David Brown of Pickering Club and I have agreed that we try to let Hull Auto and Pickering competitors and observers know that they should set off a bit earlier on Sunday, ideally to be past Carlton before 1030 to avoid getting behind a long line of slow tractors!
