Pegasus MC & LCC - New Year Trial - 5th Jan 2014

Pegasus MC & LCC kicked off their 2014 season at Castle Bytham, Nr Grantham with the New Year Trial. A good entry of 64 enjoyed the dry but cold conditions with a special thanks going out to the observers. Reining Club Champion Tom Ablewhite was again in top form and he completed the 5 laps of 9 sections on his Jotagas without dropping a single mark. Adam Brown also put on an impressive ride with just 3 marks on his card. Top Youth A was Joe Collins on 6, just ahead of top lady competitor Donna Fox on 7.

On the 50 / 50 route Ian Watts and Tony Jones were equal on score but Ian got the verdict on the furthest clean rule. They finished just ahead of Dave Brown on 5 and Guy Bradley on 6.

On the middle route the scores were just as tight with Clubman class rider Nick Wilford and Novice Josh Hubbard also joint winners on 5 marks with best Over 40 rider Darren Phypers a single mark further back on 8 and the ever consistent John Fox on 9.

John Hamblin brought his Sprite home for the loss of 6 marks and this was just 2 better than the rapidly improving Josh Skipworth who was best Youth Beginner on 8 marks. Top Adult Beginner was the new slimline Ian Bruntlett who dropped a total of 10 on his TY Yamaha. One other rider who is definately worth a mention for his performance was 5 year old Jasper Fox who bravely tackled the white route aboard his Oset. At the end of the day the determined youngster had managed to clean all but a couple of the tougher sections, well done Jasper !!
