Passing of Max King

Max King, the famous author of the first instruction book of how to ride trials, has passed away aged 98. Unfortunately, the details that we have are very brief but he died on September 23 having reached a grand age. He lived for many years in North Devon and kept in touch with the sport that he loved almost until the very end.

He wrote the first definite trials book "Motor Cycle Trials Riding", way back in 1955, which proved to be the bible of our sport for many years until later versions from younger riders were published. He was also a great supporter of motor cycle publications, writing for many of them and enthusiastically contacted Trials and Motocross News from its very inception in 1977 and was delighted that for the first time, our sport had a dedicated publication.

His passing will prove to be a sad blow for all those who know him.
