Another descendant of the Lampkin clan entered the trials scene for the first time on New Year's Day at Deer Park, Bingley. Fourteen year old George Bell competed in his first motorcycle trial, riding an 80 cc Beta machine. The South Craven School pupil was nervous but settled down to display the typical Lampkin style of riding.
Watched by his mother Nina and father Richard plus grandfather Alan Lampkin he competed against his cousins Harry and George Hemingway in the Bradford Motor Club's opening event in the current club championship series.
