A great turnout of 76 riders arrived in force on New Year’s Eve in Hodnet, Shropshire for the Shropshire TC Trail where a dry but very cold day greeted them all.
19 Experts started with scores ranging from 2 to 58 however it was Danny Butler from S-O-T who finished in first place leaving young Sam Yeomans from Gnosall kicking himself after fiving Section 6, when he missed the end card which if he hadn’t would have given him a clean sheet. In third place it was Ian Robinson from the famous Hawks Nest practice ground in Buxton.
A total of 22 riders tackled the Clubman Course which consisted of 5 Expert route and 5 Non-Expert route sections, home first was young Alice Minta from Telford, Shropshire just pipping Charlie Bawden into first position on 7 & 8 marks respectfully & hot on the young ones heels was Kevin Ellis on his trusty James!
Danny Butlers Dad, David came home in first place on the Non-Expert route on 2 marks lost leaving the on form Andy Clarke& Fred Savage tied behind him with 5 marks lost each.
Last but by no means least was the beginners route, which saw 5 riders start and we're happy to say all 5 finished with Sam Minta winning the class.
A big thank you to Andy Onions and family for the use of his land and all observers for braving the weather. We think we managed to man all 10 sections for at least 3 laps so thank you very much. Our last thanks goes to Chris & Becky for keeping us all fed and watered during the day.
