3 routes marked out, easy, medium, hard with a 4th 50/50 route available using half of the medium and half of the hard route sections.
The Bert Tolfree trophy is to recognise the service and dedication that Bert put into the club during the many years he was a member. The trial initially began as a Pre65 event with many of Bert's former riding colleagues from the BMCA enjoying a ride out. Over the years the number of Pre65 machines taking part has dwindled to a small handful at best which is a great shame. Both the easy and medium routes are suitable for Pre65 machines, both being very similar in standard to the easy and hard routes of local BMCA trials. The choice of easy or medium depends upon your ability as a rider and/or competitiveness of your bike. The trophy is awarded to the best Pre65 performance on the medium route and it would be nice to see a few more turn out for a ride this year
The trial also inorporates the Margaret Taylor trophy which is awarded to the outright winner on the hard route which will be marked out as our usual club level inter/expert route. If the weather is kind we can again make use of some of the bigger cambers and climbs on this route
The trial is usually followed by a Bar-b-cue but at the moment we're not sure whether this will be possible. More news on that on our facebook page nearer the event.
So, three routes marked out with a fourth 50/50 option which means there is a route suitable for whatever standard you and/or your bike are - Exp, Inter, Nov, O/40, Clubman, Pre65, Twinshock
