On 22nd and 23rd of August the Loughborough Trials Club will be running its annual Susan Harris memorial trial in memory of one of the East Midlands and Midlands great supporters.
This event now in its 4th year and so far nearly £5000 has been raised in Susan's memory for such worthwhile charities as Breakthrough Breast Cancer and LOROS with this year McMillan Cancer and Leicester and Rutland blood bikes being the beneficiaries.
The popular format for the trial is retained with a 10 section 3 lap fun trial on Saturday starting at 3PM followed by overnight camping and socialising at the clubs Vickers Farm venue near Tilton on the Hill in Leicestershire.
On Sunday 10 additional sections across Rileys railway will be added (and the Saturday evening ones reversed) to give a 20 section, 2 long lap trial with the best hard route rider the winner of the Susan Harris trophy. Subject to enough interest a team event for three person teams on any route will be added on Sunday along with a possible Time and Observation section on Saturday for an additional £1 a go, as many times as you like or want to donate to these great causes! Start time Sunday is 10:30.
Entry fee for the weekend is £30 which includes a drink for the riders and should allow a sizeable donation to the chosen charities which will also benefit from a raffle and cake sale to help boost funds.
Over the last couple of years the club has also been able to secure section sponsorship at £30 per section and once again this year is hoping that companies, businesses or groups of individuals will again support the event. Contact through website or Facebook page is welcome
