The Director's Shield trial was held over 6 laps of 8 sections at Castle Bytham, when the scores were tallied it was Tom Ablewhite, Game Sherco, who claimed the main award by a single dab from Joe Collins, CTC Gas Gas. Section 3 proved to be the toughest on the day for the hard route riders and Tom dropped 11 from his total of 15 here. Despite complaining of a "fluffy bottom end", Paul Marwood still brought his Sherco home as best Intermediate rider.
On the middle route Olly Wareing again cruised to victory on his immaculately turned out Fantic. Olly dropped just 15 marks to dominate the route. Next came regular top Over 40 rider and taking another win for the Ablewhite household was father Pete on his Game Beta. Pete's total score of 36 was 7 better than runner up in the class Steve Marwood. Top Novice was Adam Witting on 57.
On the beginner route it was the Drayton Bantam of Kev Witting who topped the route with just 4 marks dropped. Graham Bishop, Fantic, was best Fun class rider and Jared Margetts top Adult Beginner.
