Just 3 dabs on the second tour of section 10 marred a clean sheet for Jack Challoner in Sunday’s Yorkshire Centre Championship trial nonetheless giving him a convincing victory that saw him pick up the Watson Cairns Trophy. Last year’s A class winner Sam Johnson continues to improve and came home in second spot on 10 marks collecting the H Thompson Trophy for best Inter. Last year’s winner Martin Croswaite was 3rd on 12 marks and picked up the WH Marsden Trophy.
Jamie Stephenson in 5th overall collected the C Rogers Trophy for best Novice and Matthew Alp lifted the Jubilee trophy for best Horsforth rider. Best A class rider was Horsforth’s Keiran Child.
The riders, in an unusually depleted field for this event, were treated to unseasonally pleasant sunny weather that also rewarded the 18 observers spread over the Blubberhouse moors. Once again, many thanks to them.
