Superb venue and great weather made for an enjoyable weekend in The Lakes at Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2016 British Trials Championship at the weekend. On the whole Team JSTGGUK had a very positive weekend dominating two of the three classes and 5 x GG riders in the Top 10 of the main Championship Class. James Dabill won both days in the Championship Class so congrats to him and to Vertigo.
JSTGGUK rider Michael Brown had a very mixed weekend. He struggled to find his form and finished a very unconfident 7th on Saturday but responded over night and looked alot sharper on Sunday but still off the podium in 4th.
Road and Trials GASGAS rider Jack Price had a solid weekend with a great (and deserved) podium 3rd place yesterday after an average day Saturday losing out on a 3 way tie break finishing 9th on the same marks as team mates Michael and Sam.
JSTGGUK rider Dan Peace had a career best 4th place on Saturday and 8th yesterday. Brilliant start to the BTC for Dan :)
JSTGGUK rider Alexz Wigg smiled his way for an easy podium on Saturday loving the sunny weather. A few too many wobbles on an easier Sunday dropped him to a lowly 10th.
JSTGGUK rider Sam Haslam was 8th and 5th netting 19 championship points. These 5 x GG riders were dominant in the main class and i think they'll be fighting over positions/points all year.
In the Expert Class JSTGGUK rider Dan Thorpe continues to dominate winning both days...even after a pretty bad crash on Saturday resulting in a trip to Barrow A+E department. Dan manned up Sunday and won again.
GG rider Chris Alford was 11th and 18th.
In the Youth Class JSTGGUK rider JACK PEACE cruised to easy wins both days. Jack would have also won the Expert Class Saturday and second yesterday. Jack was a bit glum at the finish yesterday after a suspected broken big (footbrake) toe. He still smiled on the podium and now goes to WTC Japan to win again with 9 toes! I remember a very young Dougie Lampkin wrecking a finger at a WTC many years ago and Marts vocal reply was simply...you've got 9 more!
It was a good allround weekend for the red team and i was proud to help out.
The GG Factory is now back in production and GGUK expect the first batch of 2017 TXT300 RACING models this week. Its been a long 13 months with no sales and I must thank the Team for keeping me going....and vice versa I hope
We now look to WTC Japan this coming weekend and SSDT in two weeks time.
Thanks to Factory Kev for preparing Michaels, Sams and Alexz immaculate 2015 bikes.
