A bright sunny Glen Nevis welcomed round two of the ‘Highland Leisure’ 2016 Scottish Trials Championship hosted by Lochaber & DMCC. The recent dry spell meant there were no problems crossing the River Nevis to access the sections, so low in fact that the OSET fraternity were witnessed crossing on their little 16” and 20” bikes.
90 riders across the classes took in 16 sections at the foot of Ben Nevis. The red Adult Championship route was won by Andrew Anderson on 25 marks, with a couple of regulars missing from the top class entry things will now be getting interesting in the championship standings. Duncan Macdonald and Lewis Byron were 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The Sportsman route was won by Phil Macrae on 18 marks followed by close friend Mark McMillan in second reversing the result from round one with Michael Mcniven third. The Sportsman Over 40 class only attracted one rider Tony Mower on 83 marks. David Hollands notched up his second win on the Clubman class with Bill Ross and Allister Stewart taking the top 2 spots in the Over 40's. Alan ‘Chips’ Crayk was a clear winner in the Over 50’s with 2ndBilly Matthews and 3rd Murdo Macphail being separated by 1 mark. The Wobblers class was won by Adam Barlow taking the Championship points from Callum McFarlane.
In the youths, the A class was won by Duncan MacColl from Ben Dignan and Tyler Murphy. The B class Brett Stein took top honours with Malcolm Summers 2nd and Jamie Galloway in 3rd. Sophie Simpson won the C Class from Campbell Mackintosh. The D class was won by Euan Sim Archie Ferguson 2nd and Archie Bremner 3rd.
