Over the weekend Banovallum MCC held their annual 2 day trial at Withcall near Louth. The sections were set the previous week in glorious sunshine but on Friday the weather took a turn for the worst and with 31mm of rain the conditions drastically changed !!. But we carried on regardless and the sections were chose for the Saturday afternoon and it was Darren Cox who took the victory over Mike Evans 63 to 68. Father and daughter fought it out on the middle route with Chris Traves losing 24 marks to Victoria's 34.
On the 50/50 route Dave Hunt beat Gavin Sanderson by 7 steps 24 to 31 respectively. Dave Hamblin led the white route on 21 from Bob Chapman on 30.
A great afternoon's trailing was completed with a BBQ and a live band and the party went on well into the night.
On Sunday the sections were changed some reversed 2 new ones added and some eased a little due to more rain on the Saturday night. Mike Evans was on great formon the Sunday dropping 28 but Joe Spivey pushed him all the way also dropping but Mike took the win on more cleans 27 to 23.
On the middle route another Traves was on excellent form this time David who never put a foot wrong all day and finished clean with Ben Butler coming 2nd on 13. Stuart Wood had a great ride on the 50/50 route losing just 2 marks to Dave Hunt on 11.
Callum Hedison after a little accident on the Saturday on the middle route went down to the white route and just pipped Mark Spencer to the win 3 dabs to 4.
A big thanks goes to the observers, section setters and officials and also to the land owner for the use of the land and for the tractor used for towing people out.
Our next trial is on Saturday 9th July at Walesby near Market Rasen LN8 3UW.
