Gas Gas UK Weekend Review

gas gas logoTeam JST GGUK were back at BTC action on Saturday at the great Kelly’s Farm venue in Devon organised by the West Of England MCC. I was extremely proud to have 2017 bikes on display at the event after an ‘empty’ GG tent there last year. The GG red bikes are well and truly back and the Team did me proud.

Road and Trials GG rider Jack Price was the best GG rider again and although unhappy (but still smiling) with his performance was yet again on the podium. Jack knows consistency is key and he is now battling for the runner up position in the overall standings which im confident he’ll achieve at the end of the season.

No.1 JST rider Michael Brown was 6th which is not where he wants to finish. Michael had a bad first lap and recovered slightly but not well enough. Michaels lost some love the sport at the moment and is considering a few different options for his future. He’s ridden a few Enduros recently purely for ‘fun’ and has really enjoyed them. As his boss but more importantly a friend, Michael needs to enjoy his sport again with no added pressure from me kicking his ass!

JST GGUK rider Alexz Wigg was out on a brand new bike and he was trying 100% sweating his way round the trial. Alexz looked mega in places and had a stunning last lap for only 7 marks. He was awesome on section 11 but it was a shame the observer didn’t agree.

JSTGGUK rider Sam Haslam was also out on a new bike and had a bad day. His first lap was poor but did improve as the day went on. Im sure will bounce back at Hook Woods at the end of the month. Come on mate...

CLOBURN/JSTGGUK rider Dan Peace was a lowly 12th but his bike didn’t seem to be running as sweet as normal. After the event and Tim had calmed down they discovered warn reed petals and a sheered flywheel key, so considering that Dan did ok.

In the Expert Class ‘NEW’ JSTGGUK rider Tom Minta put his new TXT300RACING on the second step of the podium pushing newly wed JST legend Dan Thorpe to the third step of the podium. The Expert Championship now has a fight on with Tom and Dan and im sure will go down to the last round. Dan is the last JST Team ride to receive a new 2017 bike which he will get dialled in ready to win the Reeth 3 Day in a few weeks time.

Great to see Cloburn/JSTGGUK rider Chris Alford having a good ride in 7th. Podium next round Chris!! Another Expert rider armed with a new 2017 TXT300RACING.

No surprise who won the Youth Class, Cloburn JSTGGUK superstar Jack Peace won easily again. Jack keeps impressing the trials world and was quietly eating strawberries at the finish sniggering at Tim rollicking his elder son.

Great day for GAS GAS, slow but sure fight back

WTC Belgium this coming Sunday.
