This weekend sees the British Youth B C D and E Championships move north of the border to the Bob MacGregor Trials Academy near Dunlop in Ayrshire. The mix of rocks, climbs and the waterfall will provide Clerk of the Course Sandy Mack with enough scope to set a challenging route in each of the Championship Classes. This is the 6th and 7th rounds of the championship and will attract the very best of the young riders in each class that the UK has to offer.
The B class lead is held by Morehampton Club rider Billy Green who is unbeaten over the first 5 rounds. Oset PR-1 mounted Oilver Smith is holding onto second 17 points behind with Daniel Slack in third. Ben Dignan is Scotland's best placed rider in 5th place and will be hoping to gain some ground on Scottish soil this weekend. Local riders Brett Stein and Jamie Simpson will also compete in the B class for the first time this year.
In the C Class Std Wheel, Normandy MCC rider Jack Dance holds a strong 23 point lead over Scots rider Jamie Galloway. Jack remains unbeaten this season but riding at home Jamie will no doubt do his best to stop that run while trying to hold off Ollie Smith who is only 6 points behind him in the championship. Jamie's brother Ross and Sophie Simpson will also ride this route.
C Class Medium Wheel is turning into a huge tussle between the two Harrys, Harry Turner holding a slim three point lead in the standings over Harry Hemingway, Dominic Horne holds third someway behind the other two, this will be a battle well worth watching over the two days..
In the D Class Medium Wheel, the electric bike rules the roost over the petrol engines. Myles Hutchinson riding the Oset holds a 15 point lead over Beta mounted Charlie Crossland. Alfie Ray Turner sits ten points behind in third. Dunfermline club's Grant Younie will continue his efforts in this class.
In the D class small wheel championship George Hemmingway holds an 11 point lead over Toby Shaw, after a consistent run of wins in the last 4 rounds. finishing runner up in each of those rounds Toby will no doubt be working hard to reverse the standings over the two rounds this weekend. Jasper Fox has been narrowly behind George and Toby all year and will hope to get closer this weekend.
The D class Small Wheel group also see the entries of many of Scotland youngest riders, Ruari Younie, Joe Drysdale, Archie and Robbie Bremner, Lex Edgar and Euan Sim will challenge the best of Britain's very youngest trials riders this weekend.
