One of the UK's top enduro clubs, Hafren DBC are moving into the trials world with a round of the Welsh Championship on Sunday October 30 at Glyn Hafren Farm, Old Hall, Llanidloes.
If that name doesn't mean anything, then perhaps it should, because it's the home of multi British Enduro Champion Geraint Jones who still owns and runs the world famous Yamaha Off-Road Experience there. The land is absolutely fabulous for trials with every type of terrain available for our sport from rocky streams to massive hills climbs and rock outcrop. Their first trial there last year was only a club event, but it was a superb trial and despite the small entry 12 months ago, the club reckon that the word should have got around and this time there will be a bigger attendance. It was intelligently set out, there was a full house of observers and even though winner Iwan Roberts lost few marks, the rest found it sensibly testing.
This is an event that is really worth while making an effort to get to and as the writer of this plug (Mike Rapley) I rode there last year, so take it from me, if you want a cracking trial, then give this trial a visit.
Entries are taken on the day, there's stacks of room for parking, spectators can see all the action and it's in a beautiful part of the world. What more can you ask? Entries will be available through the ACU online system or by direct mail from the regulations and entry form which will shortly be attached to the calendar posting for October 30,
