With well over 1000 entries spread over the 9 rounds, this championship has, in its third year, gone from strength to strength, becoming one of the “must do” competitions for owners of both twinshock and aircooled machines. An incredible 28 different makes of bikes took part throughout the year, ranging from virtually standard machines to some really trick specials.
The opening trial of the year was hosted by Congleton & DMCC at Mow Cop in March and the final event took place at Knighton in October, organised by the Central Wales Auto Club. In between, the championship visited, amongst others, Cumbria, Gloucestershire, North Yorkshire and Denbighshire. Next year’s competition will be visiting yet more new venues.
The popular format of no road work, 2 laps of 20 sections over a lap of at least 2 miles gave the organising clubs plenty of scope, and all the events proved to be both challenging and enjoyable in some of the best terrain in the country.
The organisers of the championship would like to thank everyone involved for making the series possible. This list includes landowners, members of host clubs, observers, riders, and everyone who has contributed in any way to the smooth running of the series.
The class winners will be presented with their trophies at the Telford Classic Dirt Bike Show in February 2017.
