Pegasus MC & LCC kicked off their 2017 season with a visit to Stainby for the New Year Trial. Having been set out in torrential rain on New Years day conditions were vastly improved with sunny skies and frosty ground for the competors to deal with. Chris Alford and Tom Ablewhite resumed their battles of 2016. Over 5 laps of 8 sections both riders dropped only one mark each, both having a dab on section 4 however Tom's dab was on lap 4 whereas Chris was a lap later and so he got the verdict on furthest clean. Best Intermediate turned into a battle of the lady riders with Louise Alford pipping Jess Bown by 13 marks to 17.
Top on the middle route was Kieran McDaid who also only spoiled his card with a single dab on section 7. The twin shock Fantic rider was just 4 marks better than best Over 40 rider Andy Butt on 5. Callum Hedison was best Novice and Alfred Alderman was best Youth B/C.
The white route was also headed by riders on a single dab. Michael Smalley winning the Fun class and Kevin Witting doing similarly on his Pre 65 Drayton Bantam. Local rider Jake Poole brought his Beta home for 12 marks to be Best Adult beginner.
