Red Rose Classic MCC Venue Change

red rose classicRed Rose Classic MCC have been forced to switch venues for round three of their club championship on the 12th of March. The Colne-based club, which caters for Pre-65 and Twinshock trialling in Lancashire, are unable to use Pendlebury Bait, between Bacup and Todmorden, owing to work on the site by the National Grid. Heavy rain for the last two weeks has meant that all their other venues in East Lancashire are unavailable due to waterlogged ground.

However, club officials have secured the use of Higher Sheep Wash Farm, off Mill Lane in Rathmell, North Yorkshire. “It’s a great piece of land, and has a cracking beck so it promises to be a really good trial,” said trials secretary Pete Kenyon. “The farm was used in the early 1980’s as a course for the Bolton Youth Club, and it’s so good Red Rose would like to make use of it in the future. Due to rare wildlife, riders are not allowed to wash their bikes in the main beck.”

Sunday’s trial starts at 10.30am, and the satnav code is BD24 0JU. This covers five farms in the area, so please follow the instructions on the club website and the route markers.
