It can be harsh on Blubberhouse moors but once again we were blessed with sunshine for the annual Horsforth Basic Memorial Yorkshire Centre Trial on Sunday 12th March. The new start area provided ample parking even though some of the hard standing resembled a reservoir and the new format of 3 routes and 2 laps of 18 sections proved popular and encouraged an entry of almost 3 times last year's entry - over a hundred riders. Some of the scores were a bit higher than anticipated, heavy overnight rain being a contributory factor, it certainly didn't help grip levels but Danny Gamble showed class and style to take the win. As always a big thank you to the army of course markers, observers, officials, helpers etc without whom the trial would not have been possible.
