British Ladies Trials is in full swing this weekend as a North East England double-header takes place in the Acklams Beta ACU British Ladies & Girls Trials Championship, hosted by North East Centre ACU at the picturesque Hope Farm near Longframlington where three laps of twelve sections were set to challenge the thirty plus entry.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it was reigning World and British Ladies Champion, Emma Bristow - Sherco who was to dominate proceedings in the premier Championship Class on the opening day. Her final score was less than half of her closest rival, Donna Fox - Sherco who just pipped Jess Bown - Scorpa by a single mark to secure second place.
The Ladies Intermediate Class was more closely fought with Beth Dunning - Beta prevailing over Catherine Alford - Gas Gas in a most cleans tie break with Chloe Baker - TRS completing the podium line-up.
In the Girls A Intermediate Class, just two riders went head to head - Jazz Hammond - Sherco and Aimee Evans - Gas Gas. It was to be Hammond who took top spot on the day with Evans having to settle for second.
The Girls B Class saw stronger support with eight riders competing, but it was to be Olivia Brooksbank - Gas Gas who turned in a storming final lap, dropping just one mark, that was to take the victory over Kaytlyn Adshed - Beta with Elizabeth Tett - Beta completing the top three.
In the junior Girls C Class, five youngsters fought for the honours with Sophie Bailey - Beta being the only rider across all the classes to return a final score in single figures, dropping just eight for the dah to secure her top spot ahead of Emily Copp - Gas Gas with Summer Peters - Beta taking the final podium place.
Finally, it was a lonely place in the Girls A Championship for the Isle of Man's Ella Doherty - Beta as she was the only rider competing in this class, but we can't leave her out!
The girls are back out battling at Hope Farm tomorrow as Round 6 takes place with different sections presenting new challenges for them.
