This year’s Travers Trophy Trial fast approaches on the 24th of September and as usual the Newcastle club are not standing still. There is much effort going on to ensure that this remains one of the best road based Nationals on the calendar. Again this is the last round of the S3 Championship but with some changes to the format. Not only does the entry cost include RTA insurance, there is also the addition of a second tier championship for clubmen on the easier route, so an interest for every rider.
With no major changes to the route this year, the start/finish remains at the Allenheads Inn as this has proved popular.
Single lap trials of this nature have favoured the later numbers but we are confident that we have evened this up. So what have we done this year to improve the trial? Major time spent shuffling the rocks and “riding the sections in” . A big task as most of these sections are only used once a year, a lot of hard work but definitely worth the sweat to ensure that the earlier numbers get an easier ride.
