After seven rounds the 2017 S3 Parts Trials Championship drew to a close this weekend with the rejuvenated Newcastle & District MCC Travers Trophy Trial playing host to the series finale. The Expert Class saw James Stones take the top spot with Jonathan Richardson taking second in what was his only S3 Parts entry of the year with John Crionson taking time off from dad duties to turn in his best result of the season finishing third.
In the Clubman Class, Joe Hutchinson was another who only made one appearance this year, but will be satisfied with his victory over Phillip Baxter with Simon Hartley completing the top three.
With the Championship now at an end, it is Luke Walker who has claimed the overall Expert Champion title with Chris Pearson second and James Fry, who missed the final round due to Trial des Nations minding duties, in third place. The Clubman Champion crown goes to Darren Walsley ahead of John Cowley with Sam Atherton in third place.
