The small group of dedicated helpers behind the Loughborough Trials Club have once again made a big difference to families facing what for most will be the biggest heartbreak possible. The club continues to run its most popular trial of the year in memory of a great servant of not only Loughborough but many more Midlands clubs.
The Susan Harris Memorial Trial is a celebration of this wonderful women, a wife, mother and daughter taken way to early but who through the event continues her legacy of helping others. The recipients of this year’s profits – The Rainbow Hospice for young people said it all in a touching letter to club representative Callum Harris when he visited them recently. “By donating to Rainbows Hospice, you have supported a family through the toughest and most challenging times of their life. Your amazing gift of £2,000 from the Loughborough Trials Club will help families make special memories they will cherish forever and bring a smile to their child’s face as they laugh and play. As we look forward to making every precious moment count in the New Year, for some families this could sadly be the first year without their son, daughter, grandchild or sibling. Because of your kindness, we are able to support and be there for them.”
The club will be running the Susan Harris Memorial Trial again this year on it traditional weekend of 18/19th of August. Put it in your diaries as it will be a fabulous weekend enjoying the sport we love and giving something back to the community.
