The 2018 RT Keedwell sponsored ACU British Trials Championship got underway this weekend at the Hookwood Trial Centre in Surrey. Making a welcome return to the series, James Dabill - Beta clocked up his first win by a nineteen point margin over Jack Price - Gas Gas with Dan Peace - Gas Gas taking third place.
The Expert Class saw Montesa mounted Ben Morphett draw first blood in a most cleans tie break with Richard Sadler - Beta. Chris Stay, making the journey from the Isle of Wight completed the Expert Class podium.
In the new Elite Youth Class where six riders took part, it was Gus O'Blien - Sherco who took top honours in what was a high scoring event for them. He topped the table by a seven mark margin from Mitch Brightmore - Gas Gas with C Smith taking the final podium place a fiurther five marks behind.
Finally, it was a small entry of just four for the opening round of the new Master Class where Ross Danby rode his TRS to victory with a comfortable thirty-two mark buffer over second placed Tom Affleck - Vertigo. Duncan MacColl - Beta rounded out the top three.
