Following comments from Parents asking for the MECVC to run more events for the kids, the MECVC has investigated possibilities and come up with the following:
1) When the N.E. Centre Adult trial venue isn't suitable to include a Conducted route or the Organising Club, for whatever reason, doesn’t wish to, the MECVC will endeavour to hold a Youth only event on that day at one of its venues.
2) These Youth trials are to have three courses: The Hard to have 4 laps of 10 sections, with some doubling up according to how many Observers we have on the day and taking in to account battery life. The Medium and Easy having the usual 4 laps of 6 sections, Conducted.
3) With the current Youth entry fee set at £5 it is impossible for a Youth Trial to cover costs of venue, insurance etc. So these separate Youth events would have an entry fee of £10.
4) These are Open events for all Youths, A,B,C,D and E with an ACU or SACU licence on all sizes of bikes. Riders select the Course based on their ability and not age or bike.
5) These Youth trials are in addition to the 5 Event MECVC Conducted Series and the 6 Event N.E.Centre Series. So along with other Club events the Youngsters should have something almost every week.
6) The MECVC Website Youth page will be used to post all the latest information available for Youth trials in the North East.
7) The first of these Youth only Trials will be held on the 25th March at Blaghill, Alston. Details already on the Trials Central Calendar.
