After two days of tough competition it was a tie at the top at the close of the 2018 Scottish Pre-65 Trial held over 4th and 5th May in the small Highland town of Kinlochleven, with three riders - Gary Macdonald, Dan Clark and Dan Thorpe all completing both days of the competition without recording a single penalty.
With all riders clean over both days the normal rule of most cleans when deciding tie breaks obviously can't apply so as per regulation 4.3 it came down to the rider riding in the larger capacity class which means Gary Macdonald lifted The Challenge Trophy as winner for the second consecutive year with Dan Clark second and Dan Thorpe third.
