After 6 months of planning and organising South Shropshire MCC hosted the Long Mynd 2 Day Trial over the weekend of the 11th and 12th August 2018. This ever popular event reached maximum entries on the 1st day of release with riders from all over the UK. COC Mark Wells and his assistant Micky Wilding came up trumps with new unused groups on the cards with the old favourites thrown in to make 2 days of riding taking in the Shropshire countryside.
Day 1 finished around 5pm with rain forecast for the evening everyone waited in anticipation to what day 2 would bring. Tom Minta (Scorpa) led the way on the A route but it would be regular Ross Danby (TRS) who would take top honours.
Newby Steve Williams (Beta) returned to form leading the way on the 50/50 route but would finish 3rd after the 2nd day to Dan Clarke (Beta) Andy Hipwell (Gas Gas) would top the Clubman class and Rob Bowyer take the Triumph Twin to victory in the T/S class.
SSMCC would like to thank all the landowners/observers/team Lawley (program + results) and riders for their support. We look forward to 2019.
