Low cloud with intermittent showers, some heavy, and spells of sunshine with a fairly constant wind blowing was the order of the day at this year's West Leeds MC Trials UK sponsored White Rose Trial. Leading off the field this year, was Richmond clubman rider, Brendan Suffell, who headed into the mist to begin his ride. Following a day battling the weather it was Shropshire visitor, Tom Minta on the main route who just took the win from last year’s winner Richard Sadler by a one mark advantage.
On the 50/50 route, Philip Alderson retained his record breaking run of wins by beating Roger Williams by the slimmest margin, a furthest clean tie break. This now takes his record to 9 consecutive wins.
Riding the clubman course without losing a five helped clubman Neil Gaunt take the win with a five mark advantage over runner up Lewis Black.
Riding in the 50/50 class, Katy Sunter was the best female rider and not very far off the top of the leader board on this route.
Despite the weather many competitors enjoyed the ride judging by the positive comments received.
