1st Round of the Poachers Pre 65 Classic Club Championship at Smith's Farm saw 43 riders battle some really icy winds in a new valley area of the farm. Rob Gowler on his James on the Expert route parted with two marks to become the trial winner, closely followed by Mick Ash on thress marks lost on his Ariel. Dave Pattison coaxed his very poorly Tiger Cub into joint 1st place on the Inter route sharing the laurels woth Roger Squires on his James. Clubman route was won again by Richard James on one mark lost, in the Two Stroke class who had Dave Pykett and Andrew Laycott finishing on two marks lost. Newcomer James Neave won the Unit Clubman and Trevor Taylor finished first in the Pre Unit clubman.
Observers deserve a round of applause for enduring the weather and the club presentation at Cadwell Park after the trial proved to be a great success with hot food and drinks available to aid thawing out.
If club members did not get to renew their club membership at the trial, this can be done at our next event on the 10th February, which will now be held at Flintwood Farm, not Grasby Quarry as originally planned. More infomation will be posted on the club website and Trials Central Calendar soon. MG
