Once again this year Stratford upon Avon MCC were extremely fortunate with the weather on the actual day of thier Chris North Charity Trial. The rain from the preceding week made it look like it was going to be a very difficult trial but by the Friday the rain had stopped and come Saturday morning the ground was just right for a cracking trial.
With rider entries from far away as Hull (160 miles!) there was a fabulous turnout of 83 riders which included a strong contingent of TRF riders from West Mids TRF who had come to try their hand at trials riding.
The "widow maker" hill climb was far easier conquered this year owing to the drier ground conditions. The expert riders made light work of the gnarly, tree stump ingrained ascent and so the prize was awarded to the biggest bike to complete the challenge. Gavin from W. Mids TRF was the deserved winner defeating the 120ft climb on a Husky 500.
Steve Harris not only won the expert route but sealed the deal by winning the impromptu wheelie contest at the end of the trial completing a lap of the parking field on the back wheel!
The club wishes to thank all those supported putting on this great event in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
