The second trial of the Peterborough Trials Club season took place on Sunday 21st April where 74 riders tackled a hot and sunny Stibbington quarry. The sections were set out on the easy side but dusty conditions made some of them tricky.
The winner of the trial was Sam Gent riding a Beta who had a great ride to keep his feet up all day. Martyn Rushbrook finished second on 6 marks and was best intermediate from Ben Butler who was third on 7 marks. Youth B rider Jacob Potts was best youth on the hard route.
The 50/50 route was won by Mick Thurman on 9 marks dropped from John Holland on 15 marks dropped. Alex Woodhouse was best youth rider on the 50/50 route dropping 45 marks.
On the middle route twin shock Fantic rider Olly Wareing managed to keep his feet up all day to come out top. Pete Rushbrook was next up on 1 mark dropped to win the over 40 class. The best Novice rider today was Braddan Robey on 2 marks dropped.
The best rider today on the sportsman route was Gary Skipworth on 8 marks dropped from BSA B40 mounted Bruce Alderman on 9 marks dropped. The best youth rider today was Oliver Spindley on 39 marks dropped.
On the white route Pre70 class rider Mike Sanderson on his Triumph was best dropping just 2 marks from Peter Yarham who dropped 3 marks to be best Adult on the hard route. The best youth rider on the white route was Tyler Atkinson on 26 marks dropped.
It was a brilliant day with sunny conditions for the five conducted route riders who tackled six challenging sections, several of the boys doing well on the harder sections.
