The fouth trial of the Peterborough Trials Club season took place today where 49 riders tackled 5 laps of 8 sections at Ketton Quarry. When the riders arrived, they were met with wet sticky mud caused by over night rain. After a quick examination of the conditions the decision was taken to delay the start as the quarry was drying fast and in its wet state just getting to sections was nearly impossible! The extra 30 minutes made a big difference and the sections rode fine if not slightly easy.
The overall trial win was shared between Tom Ablewhite and Adam Brown who both stayed clean all day. Next up was Joe Collins who dropped just 1 mark on section 3. The best intermediate rider was Adam Juffs on 3 marks dropped.
The best 50/50 rider was Julian Collins on 14 marks dropped from Tom Bishop on 15 marks. The best youth rider on the day was Jacob Potts on 22 marks dropped
On the middle route Braddan Robey dropped just 8 marks to be best novice rider as well as best on the route. Tim Gent was best over 40 on 9 marks dropped, Simon Dumbrell was best clubman on 12 marks dropped and Alex Woodhouse was best youth on 13 marks dropped.
The sportsman route was won by Bruce Alderman on his BSA dropping 2 marks from Tony Bilton and Paul Woodhouse who both dropped 10 marks.
On the White route there was joint winners with Gary Kirtley Paine and John Firko who both dropped 5 marks. Stewart Dickinson was best pre 70 on 6 marks dropped.
It was a great day at Ketton for the conducted riders with all being challenged by the tight and difficult sections.
Big thanks to everyone who helped us plot the course yesterday, turned out to ride today and especially the observers its very much appreciated and we couldn’t run the trial without you! We hope to see you all on the 4th August for our next trial at Stibbington.
We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage as many of you as possible to support the Susan Harris charity trial run by Loughborough club on the 17/18th August. It’s a great trial all for a good cause.
