Big thanks to the 51 riders that travelled over to South Elkington for the Poachers Pre 65 Trials Club penultimate event on Sunday. Riders were blessed with dry conditions after the heavy rain earlier in the week.
The trial was set out by committee members David Hird and Harold Allen, who plotted 8 flowing sections in the wooded plantation. Section 2, observed by Ian Fairhead was the consistent mark taker with a very tricky cambered uphill turn over tree routes to the exit, trial winner Matt Mison was the only rider on the expert/inter route to record cleans on every visit and to take the laurels on 1 mark lost. Clubman riders also found it probably the most challenging, with only the 3 clubman class winners not losing any marks here.
We were pleased that we had riders join us from France, although they did not ride all the sections, I am sure they enjoyed the atmosphere of a classic pre 65 competitive club trial.
We will update the championship points over the next week, I am sure that after today’s results we can look at some close positions heading into our final championship round at North Somercotes. A big thank you to all the observers and officials that made the day possible.
